Relief over news of more financial support for businesses hard-hit by lockdowns

Relief over news of more financial support for businesses hard-hit by lockdowns

A one-off transition payment will be made to businesses of four-thousand dollars, with an extra 400 dollars per employee.

It caps off at 50 people - meaning businesses can collect up to 24-thousand dollars.

Applications open December 10, and a last round of wage subsidy and resurgence support payments opens this Friday.

Auckland Business Chamber Chief Executive Michael Barnett says Government support is appreciated - and needed.

He says the transition payment will be extremely welcome, and will help businesses ease into this new environment.

Financial support for workers isolating or waiting on a test result will also continue in each Traffic Light setting.
