Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has named North Harbour and Waratahs first-five Tane Edmed on the bench for Sunday's year-ending test against Ireland

Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has named North Harbour and Waratahs first-five Tane Edmed on the bench for Sunday's year-ending test against Ireland

The surprise selection is set to make Edmed Australia's record-extending 19th debutant of 2024.

Centre Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii has won a battle to be fit to start in his fourth test, while James Slipper and Taniela Tupou come into the starting front row, as part of six changes from the loss to Scotland.

Kiwi-born players James Lowe and Jamison Gibson-Park return as part of five changes to Ireland's starting side, while two-test first-five Sam Prendergast has retained his place at 10 over Jack Crowley.
