Health Minister Dr Shane Reti could be stripped of the portfolio in today's Cabinet reshuffle

Prime Minister Chris Luxon will reveal changes to his line up of National Party Ministers this afternoon.

Despite Reti's professional experience in the sector - there's been recent speculation another Minister would step in to deal with Health's complex governance issues and major deficits.

Simeon Brown's expected to be that Minister - knocking Reti down the rankings from fourth place.

Brown currently holds the transport, local government and energy portfolios - and the move could see him passing one or more of these on to another Minister.
