Christina Haack has said "everyone's just doing better" since her estranged husband Josh Hall left their home

The couple filed for divorce after three years of marriage last July and the 41-year-old star believes that it is for the best that they are now living apart

In a new episode of HGTV's 'Christina on the Coast', her pal Cassie Schienle asked if Christina feels like "a weight's been lifted" off her shoulders, and she replied: "Because Josh is gone? Yes, A 220-lb weight.

"The house is so much better, the kids are so happy. Like, everyone in this household is thriving and the kids truly are doing great ...

"Everyone's just doing better since he's gone... just all that negative energy."

Josh said the reason for his and Christina's marriage breakdown is because of "irreconcilable differences" but she has insisted that she did her best to make the relationship work.

Christina added: "I truly tried to make that work and tried to give him the self-help tools, tried to keep him busy and tried to say, 'Why don't we start flipping houses?' and all those things.

"No matter what, you can't make someone else happy; they can only make themselves happy."

Consoling her best friend, Cassie assured her that "there's nothing you could've done", and she expressed how "proud" she is of Christina to "step out of that situation".

Cassie added: "Look, I know you love a relationship. You love to be in love. Not one thing has changed in our 25 years of friendship or knowing each other.

"For real, you have your beautiful children and a beautiful life and career. Alright, let's slow it down."

    Christina replied: "Absolutely."

The pair embraced and Cassie then said: "It's all going to be fine. Appreciate you."
