Wellington Phoenix substitute Paulo Retre has suffered an unfortunate injury after scoring in the 3-2 loss to the Melbourne Victory in Wellington

Retre had only been on the field for 19 minutes before netting a cracking goal, but coach Giancarlo Italiano has revealed just how his goalscorer tweaked a hamstring and had to be immediately replaced.

Auckland FC have a four-point lead at the top of A-League after fighting back from two goals down to draw 2-all with Sydney FC, while the Phoenix remain 11th..
