Another mixed bag when it comes to the state of Kiwis'  finances

Another mixed bag when it comes to the state of Kiwis' finances

Centrix's April Credit Indicator shows mortgage arrears rose to 24-thousand last month, and are 7-percent higher than March last year - despite falling interest.

Consumers' overdue payments also saw a seasonal climb.

Managing Director Keith McLaughlin says personal loan arrears are back in double digits after over a year, and business liquidations are rising.

He says while businesses are balancing their books better, they're still very reliant on consumer confidence and spend.
