A further bargaining meeting's taking place between the New Zealand Nurses Organisation and the public health agency on Monday.
Chief executive Dale Bramley says they're committed to reaching agreement with the union.
It's estimated 43-hundred procedures and specialist appointments would be postponed, if the 24-hour strike takes place from Wednesday morning.
The union's calling on Health NZ to better address staffing concerns.
