    Witnesses have described seeing people dive into Tauranga Harbour after a car involved in a three vehicle crash plunged into the water


    Emergency services were called to Chapel Street around 5pm and the street is closed.

    It's not yet clear how many people are in the car or if there are any injuries.

    A worker in the area says about 20 people dived into the water to try to rescue people.
