Jonathan Bailey feels he's been "incredibly lucky" in his career

The 37-year-old actor stars alongside the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Rupert Friend in Jurassic World Rebirth, and Jonathan feels fortunate to be part of the long-running film franchise

He told E! News: "When you're in the jungle in Thailand, and [director] Gareth Edwards is operating the camera, and every member of the crew has that love and reverence for the original film, it's an amazing place to be."

Jonathan has enjoyed an impressive run of success in recent times, starring in the Wicked movie and Bridgerton, the hit Netflix series.

The actor is now enjoying the experience of promoting Jurassic World Rebirth, describing the new movie as "the summer blockbuster".

He said: "I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of this, to get people back into the theatres this summer for the summer blockbuster, and celebrate so much brilliance and nostalgia. It's a love letter."

Meanwhile, Jonathan recently revealed that he "nearly didn't audition" for Bridgerton.

The actor has starred on the Netflix show since 2020 - but Jonathan was actually keen to take a career break before he committed himself to the project.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "I got sent it and I nearly didn't audition.

"At that time, I was really done. I just needed to go and experience the world."

However, Jonathan's attitude changed completely after he read the script.

He said: "I remember just being like, 'Wow, this is going to be massive.'"

Jonathan found shooting Bridgerton to be an "all-encompassing" experience, and he actually welcomed returning to his theatre roots in recent years.

The actor - who returned to London's West End after the second season of Bridgerton - explained: "When you go and film something like Bridgerton, and you say goodbye to your friends, your family, it's all-encompassing.

"I read an interview with Walton Goggins where he was saying he was glad that even now White Lotus didn't happen to him 10 years ago because he wouldn't have known what to do with that. And I just feel that maybe Bridgerton was just a smidge quicker than I was prepared for.

"Going back to theatre, working with people that I know, that has helped."
