A jury's heard grisly details about the death and dismemberment of a Christchurch man - whose remains were found in the boot of his own car

Parts of Richard Leman's body were found in the boot of his own car, parked at an abandoned property on Rangiora's Tyler Street in April 2023.

Michael Scott Rodger's charged with murdering the father of three.

Police allege he shot Leman, before decapitating him after smoking methamphetamine.

The court heard the pair knew each other through drug activity.

More than 30 witnesses are expected to give evidence during the four-week trial, which continues today.
