Golfer Frank Bensel Junior appears to have been saved from a large tab at the 19th hole after an incredibly rare feat at the US Senior Open

The 56-year-old's nailed back-to-back hole-in-ones during the second round in Rhode Island.

It's a first in the 1001-tournament history of the USGA - and believed to be the only time it has happened on any major golf tour.

A hole-in-one usually dictates shouting a round of drinks in the clubhouse - Bensel Junior's been asked if that had been doubled after his rare feat.

Bensel Junior went on to make eight bogeys in a four-over round and finish well below the projected cut line.

Kiwi Steve Alker's shot a three-under second round to be sitting tied for 23rd.

GOLF COVERAGE WITH CROWN... THERE IS NOTHING LIKE A NEW CROWN. SIMPLY THE BEST.
