Soaring food prices might be hard to swallow

Soaring food prices might be hard to swallow

Stats NZ figures reveal prices rose 3.7 percent annually last month, with increases across all food categories.

Butter prices increased 65.3 percent, milk and cheese went up 15.1 percent and 24 percent respectively.

Foodstuffs NZ Managing Director Chris Quin says there's pressure on products, we're getting export success from.

He says it's a fantastic part of the story but the impact on consumer is clear.
