This Supercars season will not be Jamie Whincup's last, despite speculation to the contrary

This Supercars season will not be Jamie Whincup's last, despite speculation to the contrary

The seven-time champion has announced he will extended his career in 2021 with the Red Bull Holden Racing team.

Whincup had previously suggested he might call it quits after this season.

He's told his team's website that any thought of finishing fulltime driving this year doesn't sit well with him and he feels he has plenty to offer behind the wheel still.

The season starts today in Adelaide, with the top-10 shootout underway and the first race of kiwi Scott McLaughlin's title defence from 6:50pm.
