A change of course for racing in the Prada Cup this afternoon due to thunderstorms that are forecast to hit Auckland around six o'clock

A change of course for racing in the Prada Cup this afternoon due to thunderstorms that are forecast to hit Auckland around six o'clock

A nor-westerly breeze of between 13 and 18 knots with a choppy sea state should see plenty of fireworks from the challengers, who should be able to keep foiling.

The northern most Course A off the North Shore beaches offers the most consistent wind, so racing should be able to be completed before the weather turns nasty.

All the pressure is on American Magic seeking its first win against Luna Rossa in the opening race.

That's set to get underway at 3:15.

Catch live commentary of Peter Montgomery on Gold AM and iHeartRadio.
