Ricki Lake was “naked in the Jacuzzi” when her fiancé proposed

The 52-year-old TV star announced over the weekend she is engaged to her partner Ross Burningham, and has now revealed the proposal was a spur of the moment decision which took place when Ricki was lounging in her Jacuzzi with no clothes on

She said: “He was surprised, too. There’s no ring yet. But I was naked in the Jacuzzi with my man on the first night that we’re in my new Malibu home. It was romantic, it was very spontaneous, and I couldn’t be happier.”

And Ricki admitted the proposal has come quickly, as she only began dating Ross at the end of June last year.

She added: “We’ve only actually known each other since the end of June. So, it’s just been about six months, and he was a booty call for a few months there.”

However, the ‘Hairspray’ star couldn’t be happier in her “wonderful” romance.

Speaking during an appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, she said: “He is wonderful. Everyone in my life who’s met him just gets it. We’re great together.”

Ricki - who was previously married to Rob Sussman and more recently, to Christian Evans - revealed her engagement news on Instagram over the weekend with a sweet snap of herself with Ross.

She captioned it: "Friends, "I’m so so so excited to share some good news!

"I’m engaged! [ring and heart emojis]

"I love him very much and I am so grateful I get to love and be loved so deeply by this stellar human. Our next chapter is sure to be a good one. #heartopen #lifeisbeautiful #ibelieveinlove #thisis52 #selflove #nofilter #justhappy [heart emoji] (sic)"
