A rollercoaster ride today for American shareholders

A rollercoaster ride today for American shareholders

Stocks opened in the red as investors worried about plans to hike interest rates, tensions in Ukraine, inflation and Omicron.

At one point, the market was on track for its worst day since October 2020, but with just minutes to go, the major indices reversed and turned green.

CNN correspondent Matt Egan says stocks dropped so much people thought they started to look attractive again.
