Belief fishers can do better out on the water despite strong compliance numbers

Belief fishers can do better out on the water despite strong compliance numbers

More than 4,000 fishing offences have been identified in the past year, with recreational fishers making up around three quarters of breaches.

The recreational sector had a 94 percent compliance rate, compared to 89 percent for commercial fishers.

But LegaSea programme lead Sam Woolford says they want fishers to do more environmentally than just adhere to the rules.

He says there's some simple straplines they use, but there's also a lot more detail involved.
