A consolation of sorts for Auckland FC via referees review panel in football's A-League

A consolation of sorts for Auckland FC via referees review panel in football's A-League

The league-leading Black Knights conceded two contentious second half penalties in last weekend's 4-all draw with Adelaide at Mt Smart.

But the panel has confirmed that - in the first instance - the video official was wrong to intervene and the referee was wrong to award a spot kick.

Auckland coach Steve Corica said post-match that both penalties were "soft and wrong" - and he expected they would receive an official acknowledgement of that.
