Elisabeth Moss has claimed an unknown crew member asked to keep her 'Handmaid's Tale' character's underwear

The 42-year-old actress - who recently finished worked on the sixth and final season of the hit dystopian drama series - wanted to keep her alter ego Offred/June Osborne's underwear as a memento from the show, but a mystery member of the crew had already put in the request

Appearing on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', she said: "We had an email sent to all the [ex ecutive producers], a full list of all the props and costumes that we could take.

"In a very mature way, I wrote back, 'Dibs', and then proceeded to say everything I wanted.

"There was one thing I wanted which was Offred's underwear and set that I wore, specially design. And someone told me that someone already asked for it."

Talk show host Jimmy was baffled by the story as Elisabeth laughed at the unusual situation.

He replied: "Wait a minute. This is your custom underwear that you wore, and some creep on the staff requested it - in writing requested it? he "Like, 'I want Elisabeth's underpants. I'm gonna take 'em home. I'm gonna put 'em in storage for a while.' "

Elisabeth joked that she hopes they're just going into storage, quipping that it would be "the best case scenario".

She also insisted she still doesn't want to know the identity of the mystery person.

Jimmy was shocked she doesn't want to find out, but she argued: "I have to work with these people! I went to work with these people, I don't wanna know who wants my underwear!"

The talk show host fired back: "What kind of a crazy thing is that to say?! Oh my God, I hope it's a woman.

"I mean, really. Someone made a formal request for your underwear - like in writing, in an email - that they shared with other people. We need to know who that person is."

Elisabeth joked that she'd try and find out, and come back on Jimmy's show to reveal the unknown person.

He quipped: "Maybe we'll have some kind of live, pay-per-view thing where we announce the name.

"At the end of the season, maybe you can tack on a little post-show on Hulu in which you reveal who took the underwear.

"It'll be like 'The Bachelor Men Tell All' special."
