American Justin Thomas has won his first event in three years in a playoff at the PGA Tour's RBC Heritage in South Carolina

He's ousted compatriot Andrew Novak with a birdie on the par four 18th on the opening playoff hole after they finished tied at 17-under overall.

Thomas says there wasn't much margin for error.

Meanwhile South African Garrick Higgo has won the secondary PGA Tour event in the Dominican Republic.
