Revelations police anticipated an Auckland terror attack - from a man who went on to stab six people

Revelations police anticipated an Auckland terror attack - from a man who went on to stab six people

Police shot Ahamed Samsudeen dead after the stabbings at New Lynn's countdown on Friday, September 3, 2021.

It's been revealed in court, Police believed he'd commit an attack - before his Protection Tribunal Hearing scheduled for September 13.

But just two weeks before, it was adjourned to an unconfirmed date.

They also believed he'd attack on a Friday, using unsophisticated means like a car or knife, in a crowded area.

Lawyer Erin McGill argues, since Auckland was in Level 4 lockdown, the Countdown was one of the more crowded places at time.
