A Christchurch man's been arrested after allegedly importing methamphetamine in a chess set, e-bike battery and air fryers

A Christchurch man's been arrested after allegedly importing methamphetamine in a chess set, e-bike battery and air fryers

Customs' investigations linked the 26-year-old to multiple border seizures, smuggled through international mail in the last year.

Acting Investigations Manager Matthew Green says a search warrant was executed at the man's address yesterday, where he was arrested.

He says the mail system is a common method for drug smugglers - adding the four parcels contained about 1.64 kilograms of the drug.
