A key part of Christchurch's business community has gone into voluntary administration

A key part of Christchurch's business community has gone into voluntary administration

Administrators are carrying out an urgent assessment of Smiths City - which was founded in 1918.

Business Canterbury chief executive Leeann Watson says it's sad news for Christchurch.

She says these types of announcements have a ripple effect and will not help with business confidence.
