A major bombshell ahead of the A-League's semifinal second-leg weekend

A major bombshell ahead of the A-League's semifinal second-leg weekend

Three A-League players from a Sydney club - named by the Sydney Morning Herald as Macarthur FC - have been arrested, following an investigation into alleged corruption.

New South Wales Police revealed a senior player was allegedly taking instructions from a man - believed to be offshore in South America - to organise for yellow cards during certain games, in exchange for profit.

Officials arrested a 33-year-old man this morning in Sydney and he's expected to be charged with four offences.

A 27-year-old man and a 32-year-man have also been arrested and they are both also expected to be charged.
