Transpower has restored full security of electricity supply into Northland

Transpower has restored full security of electricity supply into Northland

A pylon toppled last week - after too many nuts were removed from the legs.

It resulted in power being cut to thousands of properties in the region.

Additional temporary structures were installed last night and a second circuit's back in service.

Executive General Manager Grid Delivery Mark Ryall says they'll now start on designing a permanent solution to replace the temporary structures.

On the cause, he says they're investigating the wider circumstances that led to the tower falling.
