Dame Lisa Carrington's missed out on a medal at the canoe sprint world championships in Milan

Dame Lisa Carrington's missed out on a medal at the canoe sprint world championships in Milan

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist placed fourth in the K2-500 final with Alicia Hoskin, to go with a fourth in the K4 discipline over the weekend.

Carrington was a late call-up for the event as an injury replacement for Olivia Brett.

New Zealand collected one medal at the championships - Aimee Fisher's bronze in the non-Olympic K1-1000 metre discipline.
