Police are door-knocking in Lower Hutt after a child wearing just a nappy and singlet was found wandering on a busy suburban road

The boy, who's around 3 or 4 years old, was found on High Street in the suburb of Taita this morning.

In a social media post, a member or the public is urging the boy's family to contact police.

Police confirm officers are going door to door in the area the child was found, to see if they can find the house he disappeared from.
