Adrien Brody is fulfilling a long-held dream by starring on Broadway

The 52-year-old actor is set to star alongside Tessa Thompson in The Fear of 13, and Adrien admits that his Broadway debut has been a long time coming.

The actor - who starred in The Fear of 13 in London back in 2024 - told People: "I started doing theatre as a teen before I really got any film work ... so it's been a long journey. It's another dream [come true] to make it to Broadway.

"I just love the intimacy of theatre, so all of it's very, very exciting."

Adrien loves that he's able to find new and exciting challenges at this stage of his career.

The award-winning actor said: "To still find things that are exciting and creatively challenging and provide a lot of growth [is great]."

Adrien is also relishing working alongside Tessa, 42, in the Broadway production.

He said: "It's exciting to work with a great actor, and there'll be many additional people involved who I think will elevate it, regardless of whether they've been on Broadway or not.

"The beauty is you get to listen and communicate with each other and commune with an audience, and it differs every night. You go through this whole journey, and you share that with that intimate group of people - and then it's gone. Then you're up again tomorrow and do the same."

Last year, Adrien admitted that his love of acting had been "reignited".

The film star cited the COVID-19 pandemic as a turning point in his career, explaining that it led him to rediscover his love of acting.

Adrien - who won an Oscar for his performance in The Pianist, the 2002 war drama - told Variety: "Something's really reignited my love of acting.

"I think COVID was a reminder of how precarious things really can be and how much hardship exists in the world, and how so much of what I look back on from my experience of making The Pianist was an earth-shattering awareness of what not to take for granted and how I had taken a lot for granted in my youth.

"Getting older, for that matter, reminds you of how valuable your time is and how you choose to spend that time and who you spend it with."
