Chris Gotterup has holed a long birdie putt on the first playoff hole to win the PGA Tour's Phoenix Open and claim his second event of the season

The American took advantage of Japan's Hideki Matsuyama 's late wobbles from the tee - first in regulation when he found a bunker on the 18th then getting wet on the sudden death hole.

Gotterup faced a nervous wait after heading back into the clubhouse at 16-under - to see if it was enough for a playoff.
