Claims Simon Bridges is scaremongering

The National Party Leader says Kiwis on the average wage shouldn't be paying 33 cents in the dollar.

But Labour MP Dr Deborah Russell says you'd have to earn more than three million dollars a year ... to pay that much.

Dr Russell says the average Kiwi wage is about 53 thousand dollars a year - which attracts 17 to 19 per cent tax.

She says tax rates can be confusing - making it easy to scare people into thinking they're overpaying.
