Lucy Hale is "curious" about the 'Pretty Little Liars' reboot

The 31-year-old actress portrayed Aria Montgomery on the drama series for seven years and while HBO Max's recent news they are bringing out a new version of the programme just three years after the original ended has been met with some criticism, Lucy is supportive

She told Us Weekly magazine: “I sincerely wish everyone the best and I hope it’s a huge success.

"Some people get angry about a reboot, but I think it’s important to be supportive of up-and-coming artists. I’m curious to see what they do with it!"

    I. Marlene King, who developed the original series - which is based on books by Sars Shepard - previously shared her disappointment at the news of 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin'.

In response to a fan noting that "the bodies aren’t even cold yet,” the producer replied on Twitter: "Literally. They are somewhere in the WB jungle.”

And ex ecutive producer Joseph Dougherty was also unimpressed.

He tweeted: "We finished three years ago. Our original boots are warm.”

The reboot is set in the same place as the original series, but with a new story.

The official synopsis for the show stated: "Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago … as well as their own.

"In the dark, coming-of-RAGE, horror-tinged drama 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin', we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand new town, with a new generation of Liars.”
