    A construction boss suggests a worker shortage is about unprecedented demand - not covid issues


    Workforce Information Platform data suggests we're short 65-thousand workers countrywide.

    Auckland and Wellington are the worst affected areas.

    Precision Construction Managing Director Grant Millar says shortages are nothing new, but it's worsened over time.

    He says the issue has only come to a head more recently, as housing project demand increases.
