The cost of fixing the pedestrian footbridge connecting Auckland's Wynyard Quarter to the Viaduct has blown out to more than 10-million-dollars

The cost of fixing the pedestrian footbridge connecting Auckland's Wynyard Quarter to the Viaduct has blown out to more than 10-million-dollars

It's been fully closed since April for repairs and is on track to be done by December.

Its closure's impacted businesses at the Wynyard Quarter heavily, with many reporting large drops in revenue.

A 7.7-million-dollar budget in July has increased to about 10.6-million.

Auckland Council says the July figure didn't include a complete scope of all the required work, as it wasn't possible at that stage.
