Lily Collins is fulfilling a "dream" by performing in London's West End

The 35-year-old actress has made her stage debut in 'Barcelona' as Irene, an American tourist who has a one-night stand, and Lily has admitted that she's relishing the experience of performing in London

The actress - who is the daughter of musician Phil Collins and his second wife, Jill Tavelman - told WhatsOnStage: "The West End has been my dream ... this originally had an offer for something in New York, a play, and I asked our writer if she could hold out and see if we can get it on the West End first, because my dream is the West End. She graciously said yes and now we're here."

Lily - who was born in England but raised in Los Angeles - still has fond memories of watching plays and musicals on Broadway.

However, she's loving the challenge of performing in the West End, explaining that she's "trying to seize the moment".

The actress - who is, perhaps, best known for her starring role in 'Emily in Paris' - shared: "I grew up seeing plays and musicals on Broadway, so ... honestly, the stage is just a whole medium that I have always wanted to be a part of.

"As a community, it's very specific - you either get the opportunity or you don't, and so I'm just going with the flow and trying to seize the moment. We'll see, but I'm just so focused on London, I love it here."

Lily has actually been based in London over recent months, and she's relaxed by "walking the dogs with [her] husband on Hampstead Heath".

The actress - who is married to screenwriter Charlie McDowell - recently told the BBC: "I go there so often, it really is huge and it actually feels like countryside even though you're in London."
