The Waikato McDonald's worker whose arm got stuck in a rubbish compactor, has been discharged from hospital with no serious injury

The Waikato McDonald's worker whose arm got stuck in a rubbish compactor, has been discharged from hospital with no serious injury

Emergency services were called to the Matamata branch on Firth Street, around 1.30 this morning.

The staff member was taken to Waikato Hospital, and has undergone assessment.

A McDonald's spokesperson says it's supporting the crew member, and other staffers on shift at the time.

They confirm the compactor won't be used by staff until it's been independently assessed.

    Worksafe has been notified.
