    One property at Lyttelton, near Christchurch, has been significantly damaged by a late night landslide


    Emergency crews were called to land slipping behind homes on Hawkhurst Road just after 9pm

    Fire and Emergency southern shift manager Alex Norris says several properties needed to be evacuated with the help of Urban Search and Rescue, though there were no injuries.

    A Canterbury Civil Defence Duty Officer says geotechnical staff from the Christchurch City Council will be assessing the situation again this morning.
