Open Justice reports 35-year-old Terina Pineaha pleaded guilty to manslaughter this year, after driving into 11-year-old Emma-Jane Kupa in Flaxmere.
The mother of five was intoxicated and high, travelling at twice the speed limit, on the wrong side of the road.
She was angry, thinking her partner was cheating.
Mother Shannon Davis has told her daughter's killer at the High Court at Napier, she will never understand the pain - describing it as living in a horror story on repeat.
