A redesign is planned to put the English text before the Te Reo Maori words "Uruwhenua Aotearoa".
The Act party says thanks to deputy leader Brooke van Velden, who's also the Minister for Internal Affairs, the next passport security update will restore English before te reo, without costing taxpayers.
Meanwhile New Zealand First is linking the change to its coalition agreement with National, requiring Government agencies to communicate primarily in English.
