Bradley Cooper's mom does not think he is the world's best actor

Gloria Campano has been hooked on the Turkish rom-com Erkenci Kus, also known as Early Bird, for years, and she has hailed its leading man Can Yaman, 36, as the greatest performer alive - surpassing even her 51-year-old Oscar-nominated son.

Appearing on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Bradley revealed he first discovered Gloria's love for Turkish soap operas when he walked into a room and heard dramatic sounds.

Bradley said: "I was like, 'Oh, no, what happened?' Because I'm hearing [dramatic noises]. And I walk in, and I'm like, 'Mom, what are you watching?'"

He the shared the series was Erkenci Kus - a rom-com about a free-spirited young woman called Sanem (Demet Ozdemir), who unexpectedly finds love and purpose with a photographer named Can Divit (Can Yaman) while working at an advertising agency.

Bradley said: "She's like, 'Oh, no, this guy [Can Yaman] is the best actor in the world."

He noted that Gloria had probably watched all 51 episodes of Erkenci Kus "four times".

Bradley said: "And she'll come in. She'll like do a marathon session, come in to make some food. She's like, 'This guy, just the way he moves. This guy's the best actor.'

The Hollywood legend admitted that Erkenci Kus was "pretty good" and lauded Can and 33 year old Demet's performances in the show.

Bradley said: "By the way, it's pretty good. He's great, and the woman in it is great too."

Gloria's early routine saw her read English subtitles whilst watching the programme and other Turkish dramas.

Bradley - who thinks she "come across it one day somewhere" and got hooked - added: "She did this for a good like eight years, all through COVID."

He added: "She loves Turkish soap operas. She watches everything. She graduated from Hallmark [Channel] into Turkish soap operas."

Gloria has "evolved even further" into watching story content that uses artificial intelligence (AI)-generated images, and she will sit and view it for "hours".

Bradley - who is dad to daughter Lea, eight, whom he has with his 39-year-old ex-girlfriend, model Irina Shayk - explained: "She just watches the screens where there's two people, AI images, and it's just a person telling a story.

"And I'll often come down making breakfast because when she stays with me in New York, she has a room down there, and I'll be making my daughter breakfast, and I could hear it.

"Or I'll go to the bathroom, which is right next to her. And I was like, 'Wow, these guys, these voices.' I mean, the guy's carrying it all. It's just an image. And she'll watch it for hours.

"And I'm like, 'What's going to happen? Is the firm going to hire him? Did she see the note?'

"I was like, 'Yeah, it's really an art form. Turkish.'"
