Researchers say "prehabilitation" could give cancer patients a boost in recovery

International studies have found patients who receive preoperative rehabilitation are likely to have shorter hospital stays, fewer complications, and a better quality of life.
Auckland University is now trialling the approach here.
Researcher Marta Seretny says it involves supporting people after they've been diagnosed, and building resilience before treatment.
Seretny it's not just about exercise, nutritional guidance or support, but probably all those things together.
