Gracie Abrams is "open" to making a movie

The 25-year-old star released her debut album, 'Good Riddance', in 2023 and she's enjoyed a good run of success in recent times - but Gracie would still love to shoot a film one day.

The 'That's So True' hitmaker - who is the daughter of filmmaker J. J. Abrams and producer Katie McGrath - told ELLE magazine: "That as a concept excites me very much, though it's not something that I'm actively seeking out, but I feel just generally open to the universe right now."

Gracie is focused on her music career for the time being. But she's open-minded about making a switch into the movie business at some stage.

The singer said: "I have loved writing dialogue since I was in high school. I did it through my time at Barnard and have kept secret imaginary dialogues going over the years."

In 2024, Gracie admitted that her songwriting process has changed markedly since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The singer told Interview magazine: "The quarantine aspect didn't change the course of my social life much.

"But after the fact, when I got to experience touring for the first time, that was a form of exposure therapy that I actually loved leaning into, and it shocked me. It's definitely influenced my writing in every capacity - not only knowing the kind of music that I want to be performing and that I want to hear being screamed back at me, but also the way that I am with people."

Gracie has been able to find an escape from her own fame, too.

She said: "I don't really feel very engaged with my algorithm. I'm lucky that I don't get my own s*** on [social media].

"The videos that I interact with are about people that live in the middle of nowhere by themselves, or I get a lot of pregnancy announcements from strangers to their friends and family. I get a lot of wild animals and s***. So I don't feel like I'm seeing a lot of myself, which I like."
