A 27-year-old woman's charged with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle after allegedly stealing a courier van on Napier's Station Street this morning

A 27-year-old woman's charged with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle after allegedly stealing a courier van on Napier's Station Street this morning

Police say the courier driver left his vehicle running while making a delivery in front of the Police Station, when a woman got in and drove off.

Police were quickly notified and the alleged thief was caught ten minutes later on Masefield Avenue.

She'll face an extra charge of burglary after the arresting officer found property on her from a previous case.
