Brian Cox is "embarrassed" by his wealth and hates talking about money

The Succession star has earned a fortune during his years in Hollywood but fears having money comes with a lot of "responsiibility" and it makes him feel extremely uncomfortable

He told The Times newspaper: "I haven't changed. I'm still the same and this attention to the detail of wealth freaks me out. I don't like talking about it. I get embarrassed ...

"They were talking about how much I earn the other day and I just said: 'I don't want to know that, thank you very much. Please keep that information to yourself.'

"God almighty! Really? What a responsibility, living up to it apart from anything else."

Brian also complained about his expanding wardrobe because he's being given so many free clothes, adding: "I've got so many clothes now. People just keep giving me clothes. I've got a stylist and all that b*******. "

However, being wealthy does have advantages and the actor has revealed he's bought another property in London so he and his wife Nicole Ansari now have their own apartments in the city but they "visit" each other because the properties are walking distance apart.

He explained: "When I go to her flat I always feel I'm imposing. She said: 'Come, you've got to come over. Why don't you come?'

"I said: 'Well, it's a long walk ... 'Then I go and I'm fine. But I'm always a bit nervous when I go there."

Brian married his third wife Nicole in 2002, and he is convinced his second marriage is much healthier because they allow each other to feel "free" and have separate bedrooms.

He previously told The Times: "The secret to a good marriage? Separate bedrooms. You visit one another. Your partner must feel free.

"My first marriage broke down because I was in my most ambitious period and I was ignoring a lot of stuff that was going on. My wife was very smart financially, and she did really well - she kept me afloat.

"But it was a strain on the pair of us and it broke us up."
