Construction businesses are still struggling to pay off debt, as sector pressures continue

Construction businesses are still struggling to pay off debt, as sector pressures continue

A report by BWA Insolvency reveals the sector's seen a 13-percent increase in business failures between April and June this year, compared to the same time last year

However, overall insolvency numbers for businesses dropped by 5.5-percent compared to last year

BWA Insolvency principal Bryan Williams says many in the industry are at the point where they can't continue any longer.

He says there's simply not enough revenue coming in for people to meet overhead costs, so it's just a general squeeze-out.
