Sarah Michelle Gellar says her son’s eyesight is “absolutely” improving

The ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ alum recently revealed her eight-year-old son Rocky suffers from myopia - which is the proper term for nearsightedness - and said at the time his condition was progressing “extremely rapidly”

But now, Sarah - who has Rocky, as well as 11-year-old daughter Charlotte with her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. - has insisted her son is doing much better.

When asked by Us Weekly magazine if his condition is improving, she said: “Absolutely. It’s so interesting that these are the things that you notice about yourself, about your family in general, when you have this kind of together time [amid the coronavirus pandemic].”

Sarah, 43, opened up about Rocky’s condition earlier this month, when she said she had only begun to notice a problem when he began spending more time in front of screens during lockdown.

She said at the time: “I really chalked it up to screen fatigue because my kids didn’t have a lot of access to devices [before the coronavirus quarantine]. All of a sudden they’re thrown into this world where they’re on Zoom for school and the only way they can connect with their friends afterwards is to continue on these devices. It was not something my kids were used to.”

The ‘Cruel Intentions’ star said her son would blink heavily while trying to focus on the screen in front of him, and over time, she grew more concerned.

She added: “They said not only did he have myopia - the common term is nearsightedness - but it was progressing extremely rapidly.”

Meanwhile, Sarah previously hailed her kids as the most influential people in her life.

She said: "My kids are the most influential people in my life. I love to see the world through their eyes, and [hear] the questions they ask.”
