    New Zealand Cricket Players Association boss Heath Mills has explained the closing of the gender pay gap in match fees for white-ball cricket


    The new master contract agreement will see men's and women's players paid equally for 50-over and 20-over matches over the next five years.

    The division between the contract retainers remains - the top-ranked Black Cap will receive 523 thousand dollars compared to the top-ranked White Fern on 163 thousand.

    Mills says the men also play test and first-class cricket, so have greater time demands.
