Infrastructure New Zealand says National and Labour should come together to back longer parliamentary and council terms

Infrastructure New Zealand says National and Labour should come together to back longer parliamentary and council terms

The Justice Select Committee has backed a referendum on four year terms for central government.

Infrastructure New Zealand Chief Executive Nick Leggett says it should be put to referendum and see increased powers for scrutiny.

He says infrastructure needs to be planned long term.

Leggett says it needs to be supported through from the planning to execution stage.
