Police are still trying to establish the cause of death of a baby found in an Auckland wheelie bin - weeks after the autopsy

Last month a newborn baby's body was found in a bin outside a property on Renall Street in Freemans Bay.

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with interfering with human remains and has been remanded in custody.

Our newsroom understands police officers are attempting to locate medical records and details of any pregnancy scans.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard says they are still awaiting final pathology results.
