The Hastings-based company says it's seen a steady decline in demand for New Zealand-grown canned peaches over recent years.
Watties says consumers are choosing cheaper imported alternatives.
It says it's had to adjust the volumes it takes from local orchards as a result.
Watties says any decision which affects local growers is never made lightly, and it's still proud of the quality and taste of locally grown fruit.
