Protest rallies in key parts of Sydney are banned for the next two weeks - and Police can now restrict public protests for up to three months, when authorities declare a terrorism threat.
New reforms also include further restrictions on gun ownership and tougher hate speech laws.
New South Wales Shadow Police Minister Paul Toole told Sky News they've been seeing protests most weeks - for more than two years.
He says this has been building up to situation, where it can't continue - so it's good to see protests banned for another two weeks.
